#52408, "Finally!! I have my car...what a dissapointment!"

Hello people. I finally got my car this Saturday! It's a 97 GS with a Hahn Stage 5 turbo kit.

You might ask, why the dissapointment? The S20G has broken seals emoji I can see the oil comming out of the air inlet. Its broken seals or too much oil preassure that is forcing the oil out. The smoke is just terrible.

Has anyone had this problem with Hahn turbos? Anyway, I left the car at the shop. Besides the smoke, it runs great at 15psi! I loved it for a couple of miles. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated.

Stage V. Maybe Stage 4. LOL. I bought the engine and turbo kit from Greg from this forum about three months ago. I upgraded the turbo from a S16G to a S20G. This is what I have installed in the car. I'was reading Maximum Boost on the section where it mentions oil flow and preassure requirements. One of the paragraphs mention exactly what my car is suffering from. It suggested that the oil preassure might be too high. Anyway, I tested it for like 10 minutes before it started to smoke. Any suggestions?

No, the setup is great. I've never driven a turbo car before. I loved it, the sounds of the BOV, everything is great!! I'm going to send this turbo to HRC so they can inspect it or something. Don't worry about it. Later

I'm glad Greg's car is still around, especially when it's owned by someone on this forum. As for the turbo, I wouldn't send it back yet. Call HRC tech support first. They will help you diagnose the problem. When you said oil is coming out of the air inlet, do you mean that there's oil in the intake pipe? If so, then you are probably right about the broken seal. Another thing to check is the oil inlet. When I removed and reinstalled my turbo, I used teflon paste on the threads and it just burned, causing oil to leak from there and running down the sides. I currently use teflon tape and that seem to have solved the problem. Maybe that's not the case with your car, but it's something else to check. Call HRC first.
