I am seriously thinking about making this $7,000 investment. HRC explains that their kits come with all necessary parts in order to keep my engine safe. They also say I will have upgrade my clutch. My question is, will our transmissions withstand 450-475hp? As far as I know our trannies can only withstand 140 ft/lbs of pressure.

I'm pretty sure that our trannies will hold that much. You will want an LSD for sure!
If it wasnt for our shitty rings, our bottom end is pretty stout.

hah, yur gonna have to explain to me what an LSD is.. I'm new in this turbo business.

A LSD is a limited slip differential. It will make it so that you get all the power to both wheels instead of just one.

Ever do a burn out and notice only one tire track?

They are very decent trannies imo.

HRC was running the stock 5 speed for a long ass time.

with a hrc stage 5 you will need a hole lot of money.. i mean a hole lot.. hehe.. with a stage 5 i believe its going to very hard for your car to be daily driven with the 'problems' you will have to fix.. but hey if i had a 'spare' car ( and alot of money ) i would go all crazy with the eclipse..
you should read up and see what the stage 5 people do/spend..

you may wanna learn a LOT more before you decide to just jump in and go stage V. that includes the DFI..which will include LOTS of tuning to get right, and lots of knowledge to get running correctly. id do it one stage at a time if i were you. or, sit down at your computer...sit aside 14-15 hours of free time, click search, type in "Turbo", and read away. this should get you through maybe half of whats on here.

That's what I would do. Upgrade as needed. That way there's a learning curve when shit starts breaking! lol

I started out with a bare ass HRC stage I. I replaced the cartech with an s-fmu, got the missing link and such. Now I just added my intercooler for about 600 bucks less than it would've cost me to just get a HRC stage II.

If I were you get a stage I kit then make the intercooler piping yourself. I got a really nice spearco off ebay from a guy named "boostcoolers". Very nice FMIC and good quality welds on it. Shipped it fast as well.

I would definitely recommend that you start out with a lower stage, possibly a stage 3 if there really is one. That way you'll have the upgraded internals to prepare you for stages 4 or 5. There isn't anything wrong with jumping straight to stage 5. Starting out in a lower stage turbo setup will allow you gain experience and learn more about how turbocharging works, and about yourself, because you could run into setbacks or problems.

If you are not able to deal with basic performance issues that comes with turbocharging an n/a car, then you will be really frustrated with, for instance, stage 5. The Accel DFI isn't the easiest to learn, especially a version 6, which is a DOS base software. Plus, engine warmup is dependant on coolant temp for a stage 5, so you can't just start your car and go, because the car will buck and hesitate. Other than that, it is not different from any other stage kit.
