#52182, "good question for 420a gurus, fitting the oil jet of the srt-4 engine ???"
As you may know the SRT-4 has a big improvment feature over our turbo converted engine, the presence of oil jet that are shooting oil on the underskirt of the pistons to cool them
here's what the gizmo looks like
if you want to play with it here's how they put it on the crank, pistons and tirque converter section of the PT Turbo Jet, Piston Oil Cooler #04694659ac
obvious you need to tap this into a oil gallery and you need to have the jet tip pointing toward the piston so where does it go ? I'm thinking either bedplate or just under the cylinder wall
Any opinions and you think we could fit thoses on the 2.0 and 2.4 ?

The main oil galley runs right along the back of the block - right below the bottom of the cylinders. You can see it externally - its like a round bump that goes all the way across. You might be able to tap into that. If you were to use those squirters for example, you would have to mount it 90 degrees from where its mounted in that picture - on the back side of the of our block.

interesting I would have a machine shop do it for you though, I wouldn't wanna risk messing up the block. So you'd need to drill a hole into the oil galley and stick sqirter into the hole with an oring and then tap another hole to have a screw lock it into place and you have to do that times 4?
Is there some kinda flow control like an injector on that thing or does it just keep squirting the oil out?
oh yeh I think this should be in the advanced modding section.

That's it basically but personnally I would had some drops of silicone sealant around the o-ring just to be safe

No they are always flowing all VW turbo-diesel engines are like that, so is the 4g63 turbo, at least the first generation
I will check friday with the machine shop that did all my 2.4 works they are the chrysler guys in my hometown

Yeah it looks like it could be a direct fit on that 2.4.
I'm sure you've probably read this already because you mentioned the difference between the 1g/2g sqirters, but here's the theroy that I subscribe to on the whole crankwalk issue - http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/crankwalktheory.htm I know these squirters you're talking about are restrictor type not the check valve type, but I think it is a good example of what can happen when you try to draw to much volume(not pressure) from your oil pump. For the mitsu motor, open check valves(at idle witht the clutch pressed in) cause the dreaded crankwalk. For the 420a too small of a pump or too large of a restrictor or a combination of both could cause lifter drought or cam roller bearing faiure or cam seizure or some other wierd ass problem like that.
Basically, the point I'm trying to make here is if the restrictor is too big(not restricting enough) for the pump then you might loose oil elsewhere. You may want to make sure there is no difference between the turbo and non-turbo oil pump. It may work fine with the pump you have, just giving you something to think about.

I don't think it would be possible on a 2.0 without some creative machining. I think the oil galley across the back of the block is both too far out from the inside, and too high up in relation to the bottom of the bore. I'd have to go look to be sure.
It looks like you'd be able to do it in minutes on that 2.4L however.
I think oil squirters are more trouble than they're worth. I'll stick to my non-squirted block.

stock oil pump on 420a.. TOOO SMALL.. plus according to cox.. if you experience slight detonation.. you can screw the pump up.. i'd imaging running an underdrive pulley will amplify the harmonics on the crank as the oil pump is directly attached to the crank..
the SRT-4 uses a much larger gerotor and it flows a lot more.. a lot beefier than our pump.. 75psi comes to mind.. where as ours pumps 50?
it also has an oil restrictor in the head to prevent a few things.. like flooding the head with oil.. and keeping more pressure on the mains where it's needed..

Kinda like our headgasket does?
