#51908, "leaning out in 4th gear...?"

ok, driving home tonite after helping install xtremers tranny, i decided to check some 02 readings on the highway. keep in mind being a/t i have 4 gears. stage 2 hrc, sfmu, in line and in tank pump, stocker injectors.

its a little rich in 2nd (.97 or so), in third it sticks around .94-5, then in 4th, around 100 mph im down to .91-.92, and my egts started getting a little high.

is this just the result of the stocker injectors becoming overloaded? thats my guess, and if so there isnt a way to correct it other than upgrading the injectors (on the way).

i dont ever run that fast, but i wanted to see how it would handle it.

Matt- what do you have the wastegate set at? Sounds like those stock injectors are maxed out. The Mustang Cobra 400cc injectors will be there on Tuesday.

Matt, its completely normal for your o2's to get leaner in higher gears. As you go through each gear, the load on the motor is increased, and hence causes it to run hotter/leaner. I know in my first or second gears, i'm hitting close to 1 volt, but in 4 th or 5th WOT, i'm at .92-.93. There really is nothing you can do..I think it would be sweet if there was a device that knows your gear/load, and then increases your A/F ratio to suit.

yes I have been experimenting with the calibration discs on the FMU and noticed that all gears are pig rich except 5th and perhaps 4th so I'm guessing it normal. And EGTs are still not hot enough grrr... Should be shooting for at least 1500 right?

Wouldn't a Standalone and wideband 02 be able to acomplish that? Adjust fuel based on gear/load?
