Ok.. so last night i finally got my new sfmu installed. I couldn't mount the unit in the engine compartment without removing the cruise control. So.. there went one luxury.. Anyway, I removed the vacuum box thats bolted to the back of the engine and capped off lines etc..

Usually on the 420a, all of the vacuum lines are T'ed into each other off the intake manifold. Well, I decided that since im taking out some vacuum lines that Ill just run individual items off each port on the back of the manifold.. like the vacuum for the sfmu, bov, boost gauge.. etc..

Well, today, i was driving my car and i noticed my greddy type s bov hasn't been blowing off as easily as it did before, and i was running 10lbs of boost before, now im only running 6lbs and i didn't touch the boost controller.

Im wondering if i have somehow screwed up my vacuum lines and I actually need to have them all T'ed into each other like how they were before. As far as the BOV, couldn't I just loosen the valve on top and it should blow off easier?

Oh and two more things, I removed all the EGR crap in the car. Has anyone ever done this? Also, Ive noticed that my RPM's dont drop as quick as they used to, I think thats because the BOV isn't getting rid of the extra pressure as much as it used to.

Anyone have any idea what im talking about or am I just rambling?

My guess is you have a leak somewhere or your some of your lines are getting crimped.

As far as the EGR, I completely removed everything for mine about 10-15K miles ago and have had no problems.

ok.. what about the vacuum bleed screw... should it be sucking in air? mine does because i followed the instructions for hooking it up, but i thikn thats my problem.

you know.. i think the vacuum bleed screw is what is causing the vacuum screw-ups. thats just a big leak right there.

Not sure. I don't have my S-FMU hooked up yet. Soon though. If you do go messing w/ it, hopefully you have a fuel press gauge you can monitor. Hopefully someone else will know and answer here shortly.

my low boost was the result of the intercooler piping coming off the intake manifold. no big deal.

now i need to tune...

anyone have any suggestions on how much boost i can run with 310cc injectors? and at what fuel pressure do you think i should have at that boost.

What are the benefits of S-FMU? And where does it hook up?

for the best aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, you basically have to choose between the aeromotive 1:1 and the S-FMU. the N/A crowd wouldn't really benefit from one unless they were looking into a nitrous setup or something. usually the aeromotive is for people with very large injectors (like 660's or something) or the 8 injector setup. the S-FMU is much more adjustable than the aeromotive but the lowest rising rate it supports is about 2.3:1 or something? i can't remember.

Rite now I have a regular FMU, for some reason my car is running lean, it did not before. I changed the fuel filter, o2 sensor, added some injector cleaners and same crap, still running lean. I have the Start Kit from Wyatt on stock fuel injectors running 7lbs. I think there is a problem with my stock injectors so I am thinking of purchasing new ones. I need to know what injectors to purchase to be able to boost more, do I need to purchase any other electroic units to control the fuel pressure when boosting more? Wyatt once said to buy some kind of unit from him which will add a 5th injector to the car i forgot what it was called. Buy any ways, would I need to purchase the S-FMU as well? why do you have the one way valve on there? where does it hook to? i dont have one on mine.. there is no place for the one way valve.
