For stage 1, I would think HRC would be better. The star is a nice kit if you wanna go all out. Turbo is larger and can put out more power. But it's gonna have a tad bit more lag. The lower boost setting isn't gonna make this turbo happy or anything. The S16G will spool up quicker and be a little better for low boost imo. Plus, you can upgrade the 16G to a 20G later on if need be. emoji

I like the HRC kit, but after helping to install 2 of them this year, then seeing a Star kit, I like the Star kit beter.

I hear teh instructions are almost non-exisetent, but the manifold has a really cool offset where the turbo sits more to the right than right up next to the radiator hose, making it easier to access when bolting it up.

It also has the Star logo stamped in it. Nive feature imo. emoji

If you want to go turbo, I suggest you ask about some of the features/beneifts and problems associated with each kit from owners and then make your decision...

good luck to sir!

I agree with the above posts. Both turbo kits have their positives and negatives. There should also be a comparison page in the main 2gnt website, as well as comparison threads of the two turbo systems in the archive. Everyone that you ask will have their own opinions, so just read up and make your own decision emoji

Honestly, the only thing the HRC kit has over the STAR kit is its customer support. i am NOT getting in a debate over which one is better, thats been done way too many times and noone ever wins. but ive talked to Mr.Hahn, and he is a great guy with a lot of knowledge. the FACTS are this: STAR kit= bigger turbo, external WG(IMO thats better),Vortech FMU(much more reliable than the craptech in the HRC kit, but you will need to upgrade to SFMU to run larger injectors), and the STAR kit has its own downpipe...the HRC kit re-uses the stock one, and that seems pretty pointless to me. and the HRC costs more. so, in my opinion, you are paying more for less quality parts, but more customer service. so its ultimately up to you. i went with STAR, cause if i ever had a problem with my kit, i wouldnt have called HRC about it anyways most likely. id fix it myself, or ask on here. thats what tha board is for. you REALLY cannot go wrong either way, and thats a great "problem" to have.
