Sure, you buy an electric FPG, it will cost you a bit but nice to have. Kinda like a EGT which is pretty much a must.

You can also get an Isolator, they are cheaper. Pretty much what happens is the pressure pushes a liquid instead of gas into the cabin. Search for isolator on ebay, cheaper then the electric.

electric ones are dead on accurate. The Isolater version can be purchased as a kit from Summit for quite a bit cheaper than the electric one as well.

Hey i just got an oil pressure gauge from summit for ~$50. it came with the gauge and the sender. I'm curious why this couldnt be used for fuel. The gauge goes up to 100 psi, and i assume the sending unit could measure fuel pressure, seeing as how it works fine with HOT HOT HOT oil. i would rather pay $50 for that than the $200+ for the one that says fuel. any ideas on this?

you push 10psi? then your fuel pressure is above 100...so the gauge would be kinda useless but otherwise i bet it would work. i like the electronic idea though then i dont have to worry about having 100+psi of high octane 12 inches from my face u know?

did the oil thing u got come with a tap or something? where does it tap into, somewhere on the block? sending unit maybe? or like the oil pan or oil filter? im lookin into gettin an egt and oil temp so thanx for lettin me know summit has em!

The oil taps at our oil sensor at the back of the block. I remember seeing Dino talk about how you can use the same gauge as the oil pressure because they read fluid pressure. I dont see why it wouldnt work.

I have the Autometer electric fuel pressure gauge, and its very accurate. I even peg the needle over 100 psi, since i am running 13 psi on 30 lb injects. Pegging the needle has no adverse effects on it, it still works just fine, you just wont know exactly what your FP is. Doesnt bother me, because i dont tune to fuel pressure, i tune to A/F ratio, and EGT's.

guy i have bigger injectors. my fuel pressure is 60 psi at 10 psi of boost.

I think im going to hook up the oil pressure sender to my fuel lines and see how well it works. The only thing i can think of is the gas may wear out something in the sender. I just dont see why the oil pressure one is $50 and the fuel pressure is $200+. I wonder if they use the same sending unit...

When you do this, let us know. I can get just the Autometer fuel pressure guage for $60. If this works, I'm gonna get with a friend of mine and have him open up a oil psi gauge box and live happily ever after. emoji

Try it and find out. I think the gauge sender will fail very quick though. My electric fuel pressure gauge actually said it was compatible with most fluids including oil. So the fuel sender is compatible with oil but I don't know if the oil is compatible with fuel. Someone try it. I highly doubt it though.

I just thought of something that might be a problem. The elec. oil psi is a half sweep gauge, and the fuel psi is a full sweep gauge. Does anyone think it would make a difference?

The sweep of the gauge is not going to matter, the only diff is you can see you rnumbers more accurately when you use a full sweep since they are farther apart.

yeah i hooked it up yesterday. the needle responds quickly but its not a full sweep gauge so its hard to read. Seems to be acurate...

The only problem i had is with grounding the sender. Since the motors block is grounded the sender dosent have a pole for a ground wire. so i soldered a wire to the sender and grounded it to the body. I think ill just keep it setup like this until i get a real fuel pressure gauge and switch them up. If your tring to save some cash i say go for it.

DO NOT use a 90 degree electric oil pressure gauge for fuel unless you would like to have an engine fire or gas leaking all over the place. The sender is not compatible with fuel and will leak casing problems. Also autometer recalled the 90 degree sweep electric fuel pressure gauge because they could not find a fuel compatible sender for these type gauges.
As for the full sweep electric gauge, For the misinformed here, the price is much higher than the oil pressure unit not only because the sweep is 270 degrees, but the whole damn gauge is different. The unit uses a electronic brain module that the gauge sender and power is plugged into and that unit is remotely mounted. it is a much more complicated unit that is made up of several parts. It does facilitate a higher resolution(accuracy) based on the increased number of divisions on the gauge, but that is in no way the only way it is different from a 0 degree sweep.
