#51355, "AF ratio and EGT readings for star turbo /w inline pump"
Just wondering finally got the car broken in and when for a kamakazi run on the freeway and I was getting full green (autometer) the whole run through the whole rev range and my egts were around 1450. I was also running at 8 psi.
Now b4 I rebuilt the engine it was like this too it'd be too rich. Could this be because I have the airtex inline pump? It always been mega rich I always assumed cuz of the low compression but now I have high compression and its still hecka rich.
maybe I should up the boost to 10? Maybe that'd lean it a bit. Either that or get a lower FMU disc.
just wondering what you peeps that have an inline pump installed with your star kit are getting. It could be that I'm a 95 also who knows O_0

i don't have an EGT guage, but at 8psi on a star kit with the t3/t4e 50 trim, and walbro pump i see 1.00 on the A/F guage at WOT in 3rd on the highway...but i am scared to crank the boost any higher...fear of 9psi and a cracked piston ring land...

Well boosting higher is not going to lean it out until you max out your injectors and they cut off, then it will be leaner, and melted. With the rising rate regulator, if you up the boost then it ups the fuel too. So it won't make it any leaner, it will still be rich cause the regulator bumps FP in relation to boost.

i have the star kit..i'm pretty much a stage 4 right now...i'm running 18-19lbs and i always stay full bar rich on the disco light show autometer..i would concern yourself mostly w/ you egt temps...1450 is rich..i myself tune for 1550 to 1600 range...that way your feeling the hp on the butt meter...1450 at wot is very conservative, i guess better safe than sorry..if your build your fine w/ those egts and you could go higher..if not dont go higher

yeh I'm not much of the fuel tuning kinda guy. But it looks like the kit I got makes my car too rich, just curious because I always wondered why I'm always pig rich I always figured it was cuz my engine was worn out but now its rebuilt and I still get the same stuff.
I guess I'll up the boost to 10 and put a lower disc in, then I could be satisfied with that. Yipes I got some 30lb injectors ready to be put in also, looks like I'm set for the fuel
