OK here are my mods:
NER Stage 1 turbo kit
AFX crank pulley
Crane 0014 cams & springs
Howell 8.6 bottom end

The problem is besides a nasty exhaust leak for the turbo/manifold/DP/wastegate area the car runs shitty. There is absolutly NO power under any sort of acceleration. It hesitates, stumbles, farts and anything else you can think of.

I have checked and rechecked for vacuum leaks and have come up with nothing. The black box that came with the turbo kit had NO instuctions so I havent even reinstalled it yet (the first time before the motor blew I dont even know if it was hooked up right.

I have NO fuel gauge on the rail end to show pressure. Fuel doesnt seem to be the issue though. i installed new plugs 2 nights ago and still the same thing. Wires & coil are new too.

The way I look at it is all that it is is a simple bolt on turbo kit. WTF is there to go wrong?!?!

I live in the Tampa area so if Chris, Craig or Kyle can get a hold of me this weekend I will really appreciate it. I am out of time, money and patience with this car and need some one who knows what theyre doing to look at it. Here is my number 352.686.4792. Some one call me to help me through this. I am leaving on vacation to Orlando on Monday and I need to have a car to drive there. Thank you guys!

I would really get a fuel guage. You are going to damage your MAP sensor by not either splicing in your black box or using a missing link.

Crane 0014 cams & springs
it could be the cams you got, also got to make sure you install them/cam gears all correct if timing is off car will idle etc bad.

Howell 8.6 bottom end
did you check compression to make sure the motor is all good after?

The problem is besides a nasty exhaust leak for the turbo/manifold/DP/wastegate area the car runs shitty. There is absolutly NO power under any sort of acceleration. It hesitates, stumbles, farts and anything else you can think of.
fix all of that. your car will not idle/drive correct if you got all those leaks man.

I have checked and rechecked for vacuum leaks and have come up with nothing. The black box that came with the turbo kit had NO instuctions so I havent even reinstalled it yet (the first time before the motor blew I dont even know if it was hooked up right.
call hrc or search around someone has the black box wire up.. it only consist of two wires.

I have NO fuel gauge on the rail end to show pressure. Fuel doesnt seem to be the issue though. i installed new plugs 2 nights ago and still the same thing. Wires & coil are new too.
get a fuel gauge and check your fuel pressure man.

The way I look at it is all that it is is a simple bolt on turbo kit. WTF is there to go wrong?!?!
you did not install the 'bolt on' turbo kit 100% yet fix your leaks, get a fuel pressure gauge, get the black box or missing link for the map and you should be close to 100%

Thank you guys!

I spoke with Craig today when he came to look at my car. He has a HRC Stage 2 with a SFMU. His set up is apparently totally different than mine. I have my stock FPR and Vortech FMU in the rear of the car set up like this:

FMU top fitting gets vaccuum from intake mainfold
FMU bottom fitting has fuel line to return to tank
FMU side fitting goes to stock FPR.

My MSD inline fuel pump is in the engine bay.

Craig said to lose the stock FPR and move the Vortech to the front of the car by the schrader valve fitting. Then put the pump back where the fuel filter is mounted.

I am going to try this way tomorrow and hopefully it works. Any other input?

You cant loose the stock FPR with the FMU. The stock regulator is what's controlling your idle and vacuum fuel pressures. Now, if you got the SFMU, then you have to loose the stock FPR.

I would check all of the following:

Your fuel pressure-for stock injectors, it should be around 47 psi at full idle.

Check to be sure your cam timing is dead on. Even being off one tooth can cause some bad engine running.

Fix all those leaks!

I really suggest to get the SFMU, as you can tailor your fuel system to whatever you want. So when you get larger injectors, you can lower your idle fuel pressures, something now you cant do because of the FMU and stock FPR... I'd be willing to bet your timing is off..The cams you have will cause a bit crappier idle, but it shoulndt run like shit..Could be your fuel system, but the stock FPR should be giving the proper amount of fuel. YOu have stock sized injectors right??

Yes, I have stock injectors.

How and where do I install the inline fuel pump then. I have installed along the firewall, then a rubber fuel line going to the fuel rail.

When I talked to Craig he said the FMU needed to be after the rail to hold up the fuel pressure inside the rail.

Is there anyway it could be running too rich? Even with the stock injectors?

The regular FMU doesnt have anything connected to the fuel rail at all. you lose the stock FPR/fuel filter assembly with the SFMU because it is also an ADJUSTABLE fuel pressure regulator. it can control idle fuel pressure, where the regular FMU cant. it only adds FP when under boost. the SFMU goes in the engine bay with a return line ran back under the car to the tank. the regular FMU is mounted under the car, back at the right rear wheel(if your car is a 97+). the only thing in common with the FMU and SFMU as far as how they are hooked up is that they both need to use a Vaccum source off the intake manifold.

One must be aware of the vast differences between the fmu and sfmu before one gives advice(-note to self). Sorry to lead you down a wrong path. But it did seem to me that you have some fuel issues to address-a guage would help alot.
