I don't mind paying for reputation if it helps me sleep at night. One more thing, all the other shops i called or talked to said that i had to wait 2 weeks before they could start work on my car - this shop started immediatly and should be done by next week. Heres what the machining cost:

Clean Block 45
Mag Block 20
Bor/Hone 80
Deck Block 55
Surface Head 35
Valve Job 175
Install exhaust guides 28
Pressure Check Head 35
Resize Connecting Rods 40
Polish Crank 35
Press Pistons 40
Assemble 300
Balance 185

Total 1100

I will post how much parts and labor will cost later. I purchased pistons rods and rings from Wyatt http://www.turbogs.com/ and he sent them immediatly, they should get here by Thursday.

I'd get a new crank (about $325) and screw resizing the rods (assuming there new). Then get standard size Clevitt 77 bearings for $60 bucks (main and rod) at howell automotive (in the neon scetion). As for balancing dont aftermarket rods and pistons already come balanced (I know my pistons came balanced within a gram complete with how much each one weighed. 396grams each BTW).
