OKAY ITS GETTING RIDICULOUS. I DREMMELED ONE BOLT OFF WHERE THE DOWNPIPE MEETS THE CAT. THE ONE ON TOP THOUGH I CANT GET THE DREMMEL IN. SOMEONE SAID TO USE A TORCH AN DHEAT IT UP, BUT IM NOT SURE HOW TO DO THAT. IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY. ALSO WILL I HAVE TO TAP TEH HOLE TO CONNECT THE DOWNPIPE TO THE CAT OR CAN I JUST DRIL THE HOLE OUT AND PUT A BOLT WITH A LOCKWASHER. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I SPENT 2 HOURS YESTERDAY TRYING TO GET THE BOLTS OUT. 5 DREMMEL CUTTING DISKS LATER I HAVE ONE DISCONNECTED. PLEASE HELP. I NEED IDEAS.

well first, take off the caps lock. those bolts are almost impossible to get off while the exhaust system is on the car. i dropped the whole system and then had to have a muffler shop get the bolts out. once they're out, replace them w/ an exhaust nut/bolt combo.

You can also try soaking the cat bolts with a spray designed to loosen bolts. Don't use WD-40 as that stuff is pretty useless. I use Aerokroil and the stuff works like magic. You could be busting your ass to get bolts off and then once you spray them with this stuff, it comes right off. When I know I am doing exhaust work, I usually soak the bolts over night with that stuff and the next day they come off pretty easy. It also helps to have a breaker bar. If you don't have one of these buy a cheap wratchet (in case you break it) and put a pipe on the end of it to give yourself as much leverage as possible. I don't think cutting these bolts would be easy because I would assume they are heat treated.

Hope this helps,
Kurt
