well i was gonna change my wastegate to the new tial 35mm i got...was taking off the old bolts and one broke off in the manifold...what the easiest and fastest way to get it out...i have never had to drill a bolt before so i dunno how its done...please help.

The trick is to get the hole started AS CLOSE to center as possible. I like to use a punch on the remnants till i get a nice divot in the center. Then use a very small bit and make a pilot hole AS STRAIGHT as possible.

There's 2 ways to go after this:

1) Select an appropriately sized extractor bit to remove whats left of the bolt and find a drill bit that'll get that extractor embedded into the bolt. Drill the bolt remnant to fit the extractor, then use the extractor to extract it.

or

2) Keep using larger and larger bits till the remnant "peels out".

I like to use an extractor when I can, but sometimes it simply will not do the trick. Also, sometimes you may be able to try a couple different size extractors - starting with a small one and then after that fails using a larger one. Still, sometimes it just doesn't work and you end up just drilling the remnant till it peels out anyway.
