#50276, "Quick question about raising boost and fuel with custom stage 2..."
Hey guys, I'm going to go ahead and mount my 1G SMIC soon so that I can have the piping made for it. I was planning one going ahead and raising the boost up to 6psi and was wondering if the fuel setup I had now would be alright for this increase in boost pressure. Here's what's going on with the car...
Hahn stage 1 with S-FMU. Right now I'm running about 49psi at idle and around 90-100psi under full boost. I do get a nice black coating of soot in my tailpipe from the rich conditions but no black smoke billowing out the exhaust. I'm using the disk that came in the S-FMU and the small dark spring. Will this setup still SAFELY meet my fuel needs for six pounds or am I going to have to tune all over again ?

You should be all set for 6 psi, as the SFMU will raise the fuel pressure more when adding more boost pressure..Just be sure to watch your EGT and A/F gauges when you are ready to do it.

/\/\/\ is right about the 55 psi at idle but you should only need about 90 to 100 psi at 6 pounds of boost. I wold suggest retuning if you have time and I believe 100 psi is a little rich. I am running around 112 at 8 psi right now just fine. Do you have an egt and a/f gauge?

Yes, I have both gauges. The Hahn specs are 45-55psi at idle for 5 lbs of boost. But the consensus is that my setup should be adaquate, and I'll just have to retune to get things perfect again?
Also, will I have a noticeable difference in power at 6 psi?
