#50050, "Problems after injector install"

Okay so I finished putting in my 315cc's today. I put everything back together, connected everything, doublechecked everything, and everything seems fine. Tried to start the car up, and it did, but something is wrong. The car seems to be running SUPER rich, theres black smoke pouring out of the exhaust. It cant really idle right, it stays about even on the RPMs but the car is stuttering as if its about to die. If I step on the gas and try to rev it a little it does but it starts backfiring and stuttering as if its about to die. I rechecked my connections again and everything looks fine, the injectors are seated fine, the fuel feed is good, nothing is leaking. It almost feels like the car is running only on 3 cylinders, but I doublechecked all the electrical components and it was all good. What could cause this? Is it supposed to be like this until the ECU adjusts to the injectors? What could I have done wrong? Is the car safe to drive, should I even drive it to try to have the ECU adjust to the new injectors? I have an AFC, and I was going to lean the car out a bit but I am afraid to keep it running, I dont want to damage anything.

Well I'm guessing you are turbo with the Hahn kit right? Anyhow, you need to lower the idle pressure with the SFMU or the cartech. The ecu won't just idle them on it's own, I believe you have to turn down that idle setting.

No, i actually made my own kit, but im still in NA form. Most of my turbo components are in the mail, so im doing the fuel system installation first. I was going to do the SFMU too but for some reason the piping + fittings didnt totally fit. I have an AFC, can I just lean out the car for the time being? I thought the ECU was supposed to be able to compensate for 315cc injectors?

You need to drop your idle fuel pressure down to around 25 psi. The stock computer can adjust for those injectors as long as you drop the base pressure. Do not leave the pressure high and compensate for it with the afc. You definately want to get your car running properly with the afc zero'd out first, then use the afc for fine tuning.

Yeah, you need to lower your idle fuel pressure to around 20-22 psi. Stock idle fuel pressure is way too much fuel on the 315's

yup you need the super fmu so you can lower your idle fp. so you got the stock fpr etc hooked up still? yah 25-30psi for idle should do you well with the correct disk/ring and spring combo.
