I am planning on installing my custom setup withing a month, i am trying to figure out which BOV is best. I am going to be runnign 6-7 psi daily and 9-10psi on 110 octane at the track 1-2 times a month. I would like some suggestions on which one. I like nice sounding loud psssh, but am not sure if the turbo xs will sound loud due to running only 6 psi. Any help from people with these would be appreciated.

you don't buy blow off valves for sound.. you buy them to hold boost. I have had both blow off valves. Greddy Type-S one sounds like the one in the fast and the furious. It also vents back into the intake. It is very nice and crisp. The TurboXS Type-H RFL is very loud and has a megaphone at the end and vents into atmosphere. Venting into atmosphere will throw CEL codes. i sold the RFL and got a Type-S. much better imo.

I know you don't buy blow off valve for sounds, but thanks for telling me. I appreciate the infornation, i think i am going to go with Greddy Type S, even though i have heard many people say it leaks after 10 psi. I guess i will never know until i buy it and install it. Thanks again.

some people do buy blow off valves for sound. there are a lot that will hold boost through 15 lbs, you just have to choose one that you like.

We do not need to vent our bov back into the intake because we do not have a MAS. We vent to atomsphere on this board unless you have a 4G63 with a mass air sensor.

Most people asking questions relating to turbo applications on this board have a 420A motor on their car. Just thought you should know.

If you need to choose a bov for function, especially on low boost. A 1G DSM bov works just fine and it also sounds good.

The Greddy Type S will hold 20 psi as long as it is working properly. This is probably the most common aftermarket bov used on a DSM(4G63 or 420A). When a few people have problems, you hear about it. When it is working great, you never hear anything. Just something to think about.

Mark, since your a 4g63 you must vent it back it or you 'might' get a cel but for sure your car wont 'run' correct. thats how it was on my 4g63. us 420a guys got nothing 'stock' to vent it back into.
both bov are great. reason why people (4g63) guys get it is because its a eclipse thing. hehe
btw. i got the type s ..
