#49887, "Everyone asks.. Why not me! Turbo... Which"

Been working on my car for 2 years now. After seeing the new RSX Type S I decided I want one. I still owe about 5g on my car, but I put far over 10g into it. Modifications like Body kit, wheels, Tvs etc.. Well I can sell my 2 year project and get a RSX for $22,000 or I could spend 3g and buy a turbo kit. Of course everyone on here is DSM gung ho, but what should I do? TURBO? If so which turbo should I get.. Any recommendations. Should I do a custom one. Keep in mind. I have to be faster than the Type S. My buddy has one and he makes me jealous. Thanks in advance!

Well think about it. The type S is only 200hp at the crank, meaning that its about 165-175 at the wheels, if you get a stage 2 turbo, you will be at about 250hp at the crank putting you around 215-225hp at the wheels, which results in a much faster car. Think about it...$22,000 for a slower car, or $3,000 for a faster one! Make sense doesnt it...keep it ma emoji

the star kit is really nice too. motofool's kit seems good too. but first, i'd do the 5 speed conversion, then save up for a few months, then install a turbo kit.

off topic, i like your screen name! green is definately the color to have! however, when i think of the "green monster", i think of this

But hes automatic.... Sure boost lag is great but the whole car is no fun. I well be the only one to say this... Sell it and buy RSX 5-speed. sure 22,000 too be slower but you are brand spanking new... Depending on job and if you can afford it. Or spend the money and go 5-speed swap.

depending on the driver. As for the RSX-s its only 190 here in california. Smog and stuff. Injen used my friends as the test car for the CAI they made. The dyno run showed about 140hp. Sad hugh? but the CAI netted him 10-15 hp. Now that I have to admit is impressive.

Greenmonster, stick with your car, get a stage 2 hrc turbo, or even wait til later this month and get the stage 3 if you can afford it, a/t is your only flaw, but never hesitate on converting to a 5 speed. plus the RSX is ugly compared to an eclipse..those things sit too high! the only good thing with going with the RSX is the new car smell, and plus if you do get an RSX, in time you will want to turbocharge it..because there is no mod out there that compares to the turbo feel..trust me emoji
