Does this already come with the low compression pistons and rods??

You can order it with whatever compression pisons you want. They use JE pisonts and Eagle rods to build these motors, so yeah it'll take plenty of boost.

That's right but you will have to wait to put your foot down on it... That's what I'm doing right now, for another 400 miles anyway....

Hey did either of you have any problems with the computer? did you need a chip upgrade with the stroker and the boost?

No. Your car will adjust on it's own, but while boosted your fuel setup will need some changes. There is no chip upgrade or anything else for our car anyway, except the howell ECU, which I wouldn't run with boost.

Hey Kirby, what kind of changes in the fuel setup? And.... how much HP you running on your car eversince you got the 2.2 strokers?

I am putting the same kit on my car. Any advice, any problems you had? What was your HP gain?

Well I really can't say much as I have not boosted it yet. I also never went to a dyno with the old block. I will be dynoing the car once it is tuned though so I will have some real HP numbers then, but nothing to compare it to as a baseline for my car. In theroy though it would add 10% more HP to the car due to the displacement increase. However since I lowered my compression by 1 point that would take away about 3% of that 10%. So in theroy I should have gained roughly 7% in the HP department. Torque however is readily noticeable. It's been a long while since I have driven a stock 2gnt, but from my memory the car is a lot more peppy when it's not in boost. As for fuel, your boosted fuel needs will increase due to the fact you will be making more power. The ECU will controll the fuel needs while not boosting, or at idle. I have not had any real problems with the motor at all. The only issues I have had have not been due to the block. I will tell you though, make sure you have the entire engine gasket set and if you pull the part off replace the damn gasket even if it looks fine. This goes for any item you remove that has a gasket or seal.(the howell block comes with the unused gaskets from the block build up so you'll have all the bottom end stuff)

Kirby, what you mean "it's been a long while since you haven't drove a 2GNT"? Are you trying to say your NON-TURBO right now? Do you have to stock parts until you break in the engine and install your turbo back on?

You do not hav to go back to a N/T setup when breaking in your engine. However you should stay outta the boost until its completely broken in. Both Kirby and I have the Howell, and I must agree with what he posted last. Replace all gaskets, more torque etc etc.

No, I said it has been a while since I have driven a stock 2gnt. Meaning that while I am driving the car to break it in I am not boosting, so therefore the only basis I would have to compare the new block to would be a stock 2gnt. Now since it's been a while since I drove a stock 2gnt I don't really know the performance gains...yet. Does that make sence? I do know there is more TQ in this motor I just won't know about HP for a while.
