#49447, "HRC "black box""

I just got my car back from the shop and I'm having with it. It seems like my car won't let me boost. I found out the reason why it was doing that. It was b/c of the Fuel Defenser "black box". I was looking under my hood and I couldn't find where my installer put it. Can anyone show me some pictures of how the "black box" looks like? Thank.. emoji

Here's a link of the pic from another person on this board:

Looks like the link is no good. Just do an advance search in the for sale/trade section under "HRC FCD." You'll find a pic there.

if you wanna know if its on, just start at the map sensor and check the wiring for it, if you see the wires are tapped, follow the taps and there is your box.

I have a missing link, but that won't fit under the hood with the 2.4. That's why I need a fuel cut defender.

i opened up both the boxes last night and i can see why the star box would fuck up. its just a piece of radioshack circuit board with wires, a capacitor, a diode, and a eprom soldered to it. who ever soldered it sucked ass, half of the solder points aren't even completly filled. then on top of that its loose inside the black box so if you hit a bump it could break.

now the HRC FCD is way better, i'm not sure what components are in it cause it has a protective insulator completely covering it. also the hrc box is highly heat resistant, the star box is cheap plastic.
