this is probably already posted in the "already been seen" section but i can't seem to find it. but anyways, how much boost can you run a stock 420a engine? i have a 97 eclipse w/ 105k miles on it. its running fine, but what is maxed, but safe?

Do a compression test. If you're around 180 in all cylinders, I'd say no more than 8psi as long as you keep an eye on that egt and a/f guage.

180? Isnt that a bit low? I thought stock motor compression should be about 210?

8psi is the "safe spot" for people on this board, with a well tuned motor and setup 9-10 is also considered safe. it has been documented though, going over 10psi is pushing it big time... you can set it like that here and there, but daily driving is 8psi or lower to be safe...

anyone ever thought of a drive-thru parts store? that would be cool!
