after adjusting up and down for various reasons(most was trying to figure out my fuel cut problem before i figured out it was the ml) i decided to check what i'm running as my static fp now. it's 36psi!! weird thing is my fuel trims seem perfect, but come to think about it, my fuel trims seemed pretty much perfect when i was running 32psi, which is what i set it for initially during the install. my car idles around 18-19hg's usually, and the fp there is 22psi, which seemed fine, so i never thought to check up on my static. how is it possible that the fuel trims aren't maxed out at -24? my ltft is always around -18, but my stft hovers betweeen +-8 at the most, and is usually around +-5. there's also no black smoke ever, no matter how hard i run(i've had someone drive behind me) . i just think that's a little weird that my fuel trims were fine at 32ish maybe a very little bit lean, and that they're also fine at 36. what'y u guys think?
BTW - i know my 30# injects are for sure 30# injects. i bought them new.

I have the 30ib injectors also and after reading your post I went to play around with my car. At idle my vacuum is about 20hg and the fuel pressure at idle is 23psi. I disconnected the vacuum hose to my cartech and the vacuum goes to about 18hg and get this....my fuel pressure is 50psi! What is it suppose to be at? I'm not sure even how to adjust the static fp. I would use the same knob that adjusts the idle fp, but when I reconnect the vacuum hose the idle fp would also go down. So I would readjust the fp again useing the same nob and when I take the vacuum hose off again it would jump back up to about 45psi. How do you adjust this damn thing and what should it be at?

If you can run 45psi (you can) then run 45 psi. The actual static pressure you set is not important as long as you maintain within a certain range. The closer to stock fuel pressure static the better. I am set at stock pressure using 525's and it runs fine.

>Kind of a newb question but... what does "static" fuel >pressure mean? Seen people talk about it alot, just thought >I'd ask.
fp at 0psi
50 psi!! wow, don't feel that bad, and murix are you saying that you're running 55psi fp at idle w/ 525's? man that's a lot of fuel. well the set screw on the sfmu is the static set screw. theoretically you can tune your idle using the little vacuum screw on the side, but a lot of people have said it doesn't do anything really. i'm not really sure if the cartech has the same type of adjustment i've never messed with it. after i posted, i decided to try and turn it down, and retune it, thinking something was wrong. well i turned it down only a couple psi, and it was not idling well(had around 19psi at 18hg) and it was going lean in boost, mostly just through 1st gear. so i ended up turning it back up to almost where it was before. i think i'm running about 35.5 now static, and about 21.5 idle. i think it's tuned very well now. my o2 volts (on the datalogger) are almost always .96 at wot. the only conclusion to draw is that there's no real "correct" fp when dealing w/ larger injectors. i guess every car is different. even after turning mine down just a couple psi, the stft was shooting to +17 when boosting through 1st.

Hrmm. I just checked the specs. I guess stock is 55psi. I was thinking it was 45, but I suspect I was focused on injector flow ratings(usually 43.5-45) and convinced myself of this. I must correct myself then. I need to check again to be sure, but I know it is running at least 45psi static. My only fuel pressure guage is under the hood. I have a fixed 1:1 that has no adjustments of any type whatsoever. It runs and idles perfectly fine with some minor correction from the Emanage. The car was driveable before my rebuild using only the stock ecu and no fuel computers with the same regulator and injectors. 3 miles now on my new engine/turbo/fuel setup.
fuel setup:
1:1 fixed regulator MSD 50lb/hr injectors Missing link Accel inline pump Greddy E-Manage w/3-bar map sensor and all options AFX ECU (worth noting)
