About a week ago my friend's and I changed out my plugs with new NGK ones (the range colder) and after we were done we drove a couple miles to my friend's house and when I pulled the car into the driveway and it came to a stop, I smelled something burning. I looked up front and noticed there was some smoke coming from under the hood. Well we popped the hood and found nothing.
Today I pulled into the lot at work and noticed the same burning smell. It smelled so familiar before and realized it's the same smell I smelled when I first put the turbo on. I sniffed around (and looked like an idiot) and I smelled it very strongly on the oil inlet on the turbo. I noticed a very small bit of clearish liquid around it and I'm wondering if maybe I have a tiny leak, and that small bit of oil is what's burning. I've only smelled burning oil coming out of exhaust so I'm not sure if it smells the same when burned on a hot surface instead of in an engine. Anybody ever had this or have any ideas?

If you are leaking oil right at the center section, then the fix is easy. Pull of the oil line and inlet fitting. Clean everything up, put in a new copper washer between the fitting and center section, then lightly tighten the fitting and oil line. Tightening the fitting too hard will deform the copper washer and make it leak. I've fought this leak many times. Copper washers are available at any parts store (often used in brake and fuel systems).

yeah it sounds like oil. when i installed mine i had spilled a bit of oil on the exhaust housing, and even after wiping it off, it still smoked and smelled for a little while. and yeah, i can't describe the smell, but it doesn't smell like oil burning through the exhaust.
