Sorry everyone I did a bad thing over the weekend... I decided instead of spending my money on my Eclipse I picked up two classic muscle cars over the weekend: a 1971 Mach 1 Mustang (351C) and a 1971 Dodge Charger (383). Therefor I am planning to sink the majority of my money into these cars. However, I still do want to turbocharge my Eclipse with a custom setup. I am looking for the link that has the parts listed to do this. Can anyone help? And also, I have found a Junkyard with a lot of the older 2.2L turbocharged engines with Garrett's on them. How about picking up one of these turbocharger for a start?

Hey Motofool, whats up, good to see a reply from you. Basically, I have been running around various junkyards hunting down parts for other cars (way to many!). Can you tell me what type of turbocharger I should keep my eye out for, and maybe some other parts I should maybe pick up? Thanks

If youre looking to save money, try to find a 14b turbo from a 1st generation eclipse/talon. They are usually REALLY cheap at junkyards, and they use a very common flange which lets you upgrade to a 16g, 20g, or any other mitsubishi turbo. You can also check dsmtrader.com. It spools up really quick too.

yea the eclipse turbos are good, but gettign a manifold isa pain, we do make them but its not our favorite manifold style,

the saab turbos use t3's

grand nationals use a t4,

look for t3 off t birds, for mustang turbos, and merker x4tti's

I was gonna go the custom kit route, but I decided to just go with star. Here is the list of components that I came up with. If anything is wrong im sure someone will correct it.

Turbo:
Suggested: T3 turbo - best to get the big housing since it isn't too much more. $150-250
Wanted: Big 16G or bigger (used of course) $5-600

Manifold:
Alain on Asog makes these for 275, tapped for EGT means an additional 15.
Motofool on 2NGT makes them for 250 w/ free coating and EGT bung

Downpipe:
Custom made at an exhaust shop, others quoted between $80 and 250

Boost dependant fuel pressure regulator or EIC:
Suggested: Fmu or Sfmu. Ill go with the Sfmu $270 @ www.vortech.com or www.ebay.com

Fuel:
Accel inline fuel pump
Walbro 255lph Hp fuel pump $109 @ www.fuel-pumps.net

Fuel Cut defender:
Synapse Engineering Missing Link $55 @ www.group5motorsport.com

BOV:
Havent decided what I want yet, but Im leaning towards a turboxs

Gaskets:
Head to manifold, Manifold to turbo, turbo to downpipe, downpipe to cat

Flanges:
Downpipe to turbo flange, downpipe to cat flange

Gauges:
A/F – I have the autometer, but need a digital gauge as well
Boost – Autometer will suffice
EGT – Autometer will suffice here as well, but I need one that reacts as quickly as possible, heard rumors of some reacting slowly

Intercooler:
I have a 1G SMIC, but I am thinking of just going with the turbo cruiser front mount, it’s a great size, new, and Doug can get it for me cheaply

Intercooler piping:
I am going get the bends from JC Whitney, mandrel bent is a must
Silicone couplers suggested, but radiator hose will suffice at low boost levels

Oil line/fittings:
I want to use stainless steel lines. I might as well do it right the first time.
