note the BOV relocation (and strut bar remains)

got gauges (with two more to come when I get the autometer cluster pods.

Thanks. Not the greatest pics, the kit is great (stupid stage 1 low boost grin). I can only imagine 5 more psi of intercooled boost. My God 15psi must be sick.

Looking good Stan. BTW, I just bought a Starion front mount today off of ebay. Who is making the piping for you? I was thinking of asking Extreme if they could make chrome piping for me but Im not sure if they could do that. Was the front mount easy to install? Its cool to see someone else with almost the same exact setup as me on the east coast. Especially since you live about 1 hour away from me.

LAST EDITED ON 09-May-01 AT 08:41 PM (PST)

Thanks all

1) The stage 1 places the BOV over the battery and into the hood hump. Dont think it will work with a strut bar. Stage 2 should. There pics under customer rides at http://www.turbogs.com of how its suppose to be.

2)I'm going to get the matching autometer EGT (just cause it matches). Need to get it fairly quick too. I was waiting to get the kit but now I'm just slacking. Fuel pressure will be the other gauge.

3)Old nitrous vs. stage 1 5lbs of boost almost identicle except the turbo is easier to modulate off the line but MUCH less forgiving if you take off at too low an rpm (in which case hyundias will be passing you until boost comes on). Turbo performance also suffers due to heat without intercooler. Get one. The first run on a cold night is great. After driving 2hrs on a hot noon day its just okay.

4) Extreme could and would do it but they are usually backed up about a month just to get your car in and pricy. I'm gonna see if I can get a hold of a welder (or someone who welds) and see what I/we can do if I can do that reasonably priced. If not its off to Northern VA/Maryland but I'll try Altered Atmosphere and a few smaller shops, whoever gets me a good deal. Mounting is fairly easy but as you know the intercooler requires some inlet/outlet and mounting tab relocation.

The chrome piping came with the star kit. I cut about 1.5" off the compressor side of the intake pipe myself with this tool my faher had that just goes around the tube in a circle until it cuts off (and perfectly clean too). I just took it to the nearest muffler shop to relocate the BOV flange. I'm a good 2.5-3hr away from Extreme MS (I'm 3hrs south of baltimore. Southeast VA. Not really close but close enough to drive if I have to).

Hey Jerry, where in MD do you live? I just ordered a Star Stage 1 that Im installing myself and I should have the kit sometime next week. If you need help installing yours, I can help you after I do mine. I also know another guy that can help you that is helping me with mine. I live in Germantown right in Montgomery County. I bought a Starion Front mount and I called Extreme about the piping and they said that they can do it but without chrome. Anyways, if you need any help just email me and maybe we can hangout sometime.
