Hey guys, i was thinking of building a custom turbo kit and using one of Motofool's manifolds. I found an AirResearch t3 from a SAAB 900, is this similar to a Garrett T3? Will this work with the T3 flange on Moto's manifold? I know you guys are gonna say learn more (i know quite a bit, i just can't really tell what turbo's are what), but i'm not the one doing the kit anyway. My friend is helping me, he knows what he's doing. But he told me to look around for parts. Also, the T3 i found comes with a wastegate, will i be able to use this or would i be able to swap to a Tial or Deltagate? I know it's probably not the best turbo, eventually i will be getting a different turbo, i just wanna get it going for now. Thanks guys

Yes

Yes, just use the internal wastegate though.

T3 turbos are actually, IMO, the best turbos to use on the 420A for street performance.

I know the 1984 Saab 900 has a charge pressure of 0.7 bar. That's 10.29 psi. You can use a manual boost controller to RAISE boost pressure or buy an OEM Saab 1 bar (14.7 psi) wastegate actuator. Remember, there will be some pressure drop from the IC plumbing.

Hey doug how u liking your setup man havent heard from u ina while!
Bill
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

Hey man... the setup is coming along well, I love the turbo manifold! I'm still trying to get it tuned well. I rarely drive the car, maybe twice per month. I'm at 14-15psi now and I'm looking to get up past 20 psi. When I do, I'll post videos/pics/timesheets/dynos and all that good stuff. Thanks again for the help!
