the 4AN oil feed line to the turbo aparantly makes no seal whatsoever... the 4AN female fitting that connects to the tee is cracked. of course, the only way to find this out is to have it leak oil on the first startup. however, it not only leaked, but no oil got up to the turbo itself. it ran for ~1 minute before i realized this, an quickly shut it down. there was a ticking coming from the compressor itself, which could have also been from the exhaust leak at the dp. it also started to smoke a bit. do you think there is any damage to the turbo? it ran for only about a min.

Shit man I hope not. If you caught it quick enough there should be no damage. But even 1 min is bad for her.....I have read where people took car's areound the block with no oil in the turbo and it seized up. If she still spins freely you should be ok..

It's possible that the turbo is still okay, but keep your fingers crossed. Even at 800 rpms, you are generating enough exhaust pressure to spin the compressor wheel. And the bad part is, since this was your first startup, there was probably NO oil in the center cartridge at all. Does the wheel spin freely?

I say fix the oil feed line, and maybe even prime the center cartridge with a little oil, then start it up again and find out if there's any damage. Good luck!

Even if the fitting was cracked, I would imagine that some oil still got to the turbo. As long as you can still spin the shaft easily, its fine.

the turbo is used... so that's good, there was probably oil residue in there. also, i removed the fitting on the turbo itself, and there was absolutly no evidence that oil had even gotten to it. i just removed the intake piping and rotated the compressor and it seems to move as feely and smoothly as it did before i put it on. it seems like she's ok.

now being that there was a fairly decent leak at the sender, could it have kept the car from gettin anough pressure up into the cylinders? that's my other concern. there was no odd engine noise whatsoever.
