#47402, "mounting the hrc smic"

i'm a bit confused... the instructions say that for early cars(i'm assuming 95-96) you have to cut a 3" hole below the fuse box in the chassis. supposedly for 97's+, which i am, you don't have to do this. however, i can't figure out where the rear mounting bracket is supposed to bolt up too. for the early models it says to drill a hole, but for the later models it says to "hook the bracket over the fuse box hole in the chassis and mount it using the rear fuse box bolt hole." it seems impossible to do this, while still using the bolt for the horn to mount the front bracket of the ic.

so i'm confused, should i be following the "early model" directions? i can't see how 97 would be considered the early model, being that it's the new body style. can anyone that's mounted this ic on 97+ set me straight? emoji thanks

For the 97 cars, they do not have the large hole cut out already. HEnce we needed to drill out a 3" hole for the rubber elbow.

Mounting point is where you determine the position of the piping.

Iknow for a fact 99 cars have a gap beneth the fuse box, and drilling will not be necessary. They even have the thread bung that the IC mounting is suppose to on to. Funny how that worksout.
