hey guys. tomorrow is the big day when I'll be able to start her up for the first time with my HRC Stage 2. The only thing left is the vacuum lines and I'm very unsure about what goes where and how I should do it.
the first basic question is about the sfmu. How should it be attached to the vacuum lines? Do I use the plugged vacuum port next to the bleed and boost? or do I attach it to the copper barb next to the static. from what i've read, i do not need the boost port, and I already have my check valve set up. (PS should the static screw be turned to any certain point before my first start)
I don't understand how they want me to set this up.
anyway, i see the three or four ports in the back of the manifold which are the vacuum lines. what fittings and sizes should I use to do this? I have the SMFU, boost gauge, and bov to attach. the more specific you can be would be appreciated or maybe illustrate the plumbing.

the vacuum signal to the S-FMU goes to the copper thingy on top near the screw. i think it's marked "static". don't forget to put the vacuum restrictor that comes with the S-FMU in there.
the boost screw does something weird. i don't have any experence with poking it. no one ever talks about touching it. i'd leave it screwed in all the way.
you'll be want to get a bleed valve (get it from vortech for $25 or get it here for $5 http://www.clippard.com/store/display_details.asp?sku=MNV-1K ) and a check valve for your bleed valve. the bleed valve screws into the blocked port in the middle, the check valve screws into the bleed valve. works kind of like the needle valve on the CrapTech FPR with the HRC kit. you will need to get a check valve (probably directly from HRC), it's a 10/32 NPT thread. buying all of that stuff will let you tune your boosted fuel curve.
for the vacuum lines on the back of the manifold, if i remember correctly there is a 3 way splitter thingy. i have my blow off valve hooked up off of the middle one with a length of 5/16 or 3/8 fuel hose (can't remember what size it is). the one on the left goes to the S-FMU and some other stock stuff. the one on the right goes to some other weird stuff and i have 2 T's (one goes to my eletronic boost controller, the other goes to my boost gauge). there was some guy on the board who had a really good way to hook up the boost gauge, a way that's like 20 times better than the way that HRC suggests. it had something to do with hose barbs, AN fittings, and whatnot.

The thing from the SMFU you were talking about: it kind of looks like a hose coupler? Where should that go? everything looks way too small for 5/16 hose which is why i'm skeptical. What is the best way to tap into the 3 way Tee or any of the other vac ports?
i hate to sound so dumb over something i'm sure is very simple once seen. i basically need a description of everything needed and what to attach to what. pictures would be cool or even the little typed text diagrams. I want it all to be working the first time around so I do not want to tee too many things together on the same port so they dont work properly.

the silver thingy that comes with the S-FMU is the vacuum restrictor. it looks like it's designed to connect 2 hoses together. connect a vacuum line to the intake manifold (for something like the S-FMU you won't want to have a T somewhere, it needs a reading as accurate as you can get) and cut the vacuum line about 3-4" from the S-FMU and put the vacuum restrictor in there.
for all of the other vacuum lines, i can't even remember how they go. i don't have any pictures of my setup because it would just look like one big rats nest. it can get confusing back there. just connect up everything and try to design the way you route the lines so that they are as short as possible. that's about as much as i can help.
