I am saving for the HRC stage1 right now so I'm doing as much reserch as I can. I don't want to have boost without an intercooler and the stage2 price doesn't look appealing to me. I am planning on buying a fmic and have a friend of mine do the pipes for me. I'm just curious what you guys think of a IC setup like this one. Do you think it will do the job? Will something like this work with 15psi (for the future)? I'm just gonna run 8psi for awhile until I rebuild but I love this price. Let me know what you think.

YEAH, that's a RACE core, it's good for more boost than you'll be running for a while. It may even be too much for your setup if you are only boosting under 10 psi.

yeah man its a good intercooler, but im wondering how you gonna run the ic pipes because you have to run one to the righ side and the other to the left side. on the left side of the car there isnt space to run a ic pipe because of the compressor and power steering pump etc.

With an IC like this I'm thinking I would run the pipe back over the IC to the drivers side. The only downside to thatis a 90 degree angle but if I use mandel bends I think I might still have some good flow.
Which direction should I make the flow? Right to left or left to right or does it matter?
I am still awhile from getting everything but I want to know what I'm gonna be doing before I start something. Thanx guys!

I have a custom FMIC setup...with all aluminum pipeing. and the inlet/outlets are on seperate end tanks. so there is room to do it that way. ill snap a pic and post it sometime. www.TeamKLR.com 1997 Silver RS Wiseco 10.5 Pistons Eagle Rods T3/T4 Turbo Custom FMIC Greddy Exhaust 440's

please do, ill be doing my piping very soon, and my new fmic has the inlet/outlet on seperate sides.
Dirty - as for what way to make it flow if you decide to run the piping on the same side, make the cool air have the least amount of time in the pipes, ie the pipe of the turbo should go over the top of the intercooler and to the passenger side inlet, then the cool side has a shorter path from the driver side to the t/b. Or you can just run the hot side on the passenger side, its a tighter fit, but theres room....

One more question. Can someone with the Greddy typeS BOV have a pic of the connection to their pipe? Since I'm getting some pipes made I wanna show my guy what he has to do.
From my estimates this is gonna cost a total of $580 to get and have put on and working, so it's not that much cheaper than the SMIC setup from Hahn, but it is cheaper and it's a front mount.
