#4641, "QUESTION ON A/F GUAGE."

So I started my car today with my new a/f gauge. I didnt drive it though since it was leaking some major oil and I just droped the engine....I just started it and let it idle...

Is the gauge supposed to read all the way rich during idle ??
and even when your pushing on the gas when your in neutral ??

Whats the reading supposed to be in neutral ? or do I have to wait till the sensor gets warm or something ?

No. The gauge is either hooked up on the wrong wire is not making good contact with o2 sensor wire.

NO.

Reading sould be bouncing around in stoich.
When it warms up it should start from the red and work it's way up then should bounce around in stoich unless you are at WOT.

Mine sits dead smack in the center of stoic until the o2 sensor warms up then it goes back and forth from lean to rich just like when cruising but if I tap the throttle it goes to rich.

Yeah, mine starts the same way as Stan's. Top dead center until it warms up, then back and forth during driving.
