Basically I believe I cracked/collapsed the top and maybe the second ring lands. I went through 5 quarts of oil(blowing out my valve cover catch can and some being unburned and going through my exhaust) in about 70 miles. Smoke comes out my valve cover with the oil cap off and it knocks like a son-of-a-bitch at idle.
There is a whole bunch of C16 race gas in the car and it does idle terrible anyway.
I belive this was a progressive thing, because my catch can had been filling up everyday for the last few days and there was much more blowby pressure from the valve cover than usual.
I did some killer highway pulls at 12psi and the car felt wicked strong. I did just get my custom griffin front mount and new piping the other day as well. I will say that a friend who owns a 2001 Camaro SS(LS1) with numerous bolt ons got pulled in 3rd gear by me and then he got half of his car in front of my bumper at about 125 and this stayed till very high speeds.
I have done this numerous times before without incident, but only with lots of race gas in the tank. Over time, the cast pistons just cannot take the abuse of that boost and heat.
Damn I had a good run of it.
My spare block is machined already and I need to have the crank balanced. I already have access to my pistons/rings and rods(waiting for me to pay for them). The build will start very soon as soon as I decide what level it will be. It is mostly head decisions that I have to make.
I did also buy a new car today for the wife and I will be driving the family 1998 Town-n-country. It will be towing my car eventually.

Better to drive a goober mobile (minivan) then a GS Turbo on 3 cyclinders @4psi as a daily driver....damn I just want to cry, but what kills me is that I have a built short block sitting on the stand and no time to put it in.....!

I'm pushing 12 psi daily with 30ibs and rebuilt bottom end and sometimes 15psi. Did you have a rebuilt bottom end before the egine blew? I'm curious if you blew the engine with stock bottom end.

My engine was so stock, the valve cover had never been removed. I am just glad that I waited to do the timing belt and other 60K mile maintenance. Now I can do everything while it is on the engine stand.
I have been wanting to make more power for a while now. I guess I had a hidden agenda...LOL
I will take some pics with the head off later on.

YEAH!! You get a big from me for runnin 12 on the stockers . I think I would be a bit chicken for that...well maybe if I had all the parts sitting around actually waiting to go in I might do it. I don't know, I was thinking about maybe running up to 10..but 12? Oh man, that's a HIGH bar to jump.
