I just thought I would let some of you guys know how the Eclipse is holding up after 3,000 turbocharged miles. I did an oil change, transmission fluid change (used direct replaced Mitsubishi transmision fluid for the NV-T350), and a compression test about a week ago.


215 lbs per square inch across all four cylinders


My eclipse is a daily driver boosted at least once a day. It has 48,000 miles on it. I thought that this was a good indication of successfully tuning the fuel system. When I was new at tuning, I was running a bit lean. Now, I am a tad rich which puts me on the safe side.


I also replaced the transmission fluid (2.1 quarts - bought three at the dealer for $52.00) because I was having some slight trouble getting the car into second gear. If anyone is having some slight trouble, change your fluid. It makes a world of difference. This is the first time that the fluid has been changed in my car. It probably was overdue.


All in all, I was happy with the results and this is due to all the knowledge and help I gained on this forum.

Yeah, the transmission fluid change is very easy.

I would recommend the following:

Mitsubishi (or Mopar) Transmission Fluid for the NV-T350
-Make sure you use this fluid as it is designed specifically for our transmissions. Do not use substitutes. You'll need three quarts.

Transmission Funnel
- A funnel with a small 3 ft hose attached. I recommend one of these as it won't leak or kink like a hose attached to a funnel would.
- They are $3 at Pep Boys

Remove the drain plug first.
-Remove the drain plug first and drain all the fluid instead of the rubber fill plug. This way you don't have transmission fluid coming out the fill and running down the whole transmission making a mess. I'm a neat freak .


Jack the car up on the driver side only (to tilt the transmission away from the fill hole) as far as you can so that you can get as much transmission fluid in as possible. You should be able to get 2.1 qts in (factory recommended amount). It's a shame that you need so little from the third quart when it costs $16 a quart.
