hey guys,
Well i am trying to install the SFMU with steel braided lines. I know there is no problem the one coming from the fuel rail to the SFMU. But the return line that is going to be steel braided all the way to the back of fuel pump where it is suppose to go how do you guys connect it to there since its just a tube there. It does not have a nut to attach a fitting there. Do you guys just get it with a clamp or what.
Or do you guys advice not to use steel braided for the return line...

I don't think anyone has done this. Seeing as how it's really not needed. The return line is not under pressure, so It will work fine as long as its on that nipple tight.

james (jamesman) has done this.. its not needed? to a point yes, but if you do 110psi of fuel at 9psi + and/or you want your car to be safer the b.l. are better ( they can hold up to alot more psi ).. i plan to do this one day...

hehe, there is a big thing that you are all forgetting. if you do plan on running steel braided line, say -6AN for the supply line and then you are going to use the stock hardline for return, you are going to get a large difference in internal hose diameters. which in turn makes your fuel pressure rise due to restriction. i have -6AN line completely from the fuel pump back to the fuel tank. I made a custom return port on the fuel pump bracket unit for the -6 line, as for the FP output, there ain't much you can do with it. i just put the hose directly on it and wrapped the end with electrical tape so the braid would not fray and then i clamped it with 2 hose clamps. it has worked for thousands of miles.

Yeah they can hold more pressure, but the return line is not under pressure. Its is a good idea to use BL from the rail to the fpr for sure.. but for the return line its just bling bling.
