... help from my friends. Its time I thanked ALL of you who share their ideas on this site. Without your knowledge, I would have blown another engine. Anyways, more questions for the gurus: how much should I allow the ecu to pull timing? I'm at 13-14lb of boost, running the 310 injectors, and have the Thermal 3" catback exhaust. I'm seeing EGT numbers around 1600. Today, Kyle (Fast420A) and I datalogged for about 45 min. and observed f.p. around 110lb at 14 lb. Is this kinda high? Kyle was kind enough to let me borrow his palm datalogger- this guy has been a tremendous help to me- and now I can obsrve alot more than my guages offer. Any opinions as to which two sensors to monitor (other than air temp and ign. timing)? Thanks in advance!

IMO, you are pretty much at the max for those injectors. Once fuel pressure gets over 100 psi, there really isnt much more fuel being delivered. Either upgrade your injectors, or run about 13 psi at the most. I plan to do the same on my 310's, but i knew 13 psi was going to be close to the limit on those injects. Your EGT's confirm this. 110 psi of fuel is quite a bit, and raising the FP up even more, prob will not give much more, if any fuel. I may try to run some 370cc(or close) injectors, just using the SFMU and lower idle fuel pressure of around 15-18 psi, and see how that goes. This wont be for prob another month though.. You can *try* to get like 10 more psi of fuel pressure, and see if that makes a difference, but dont go over 13 psi of boost IMO. Be sure your fuel lines and clamps are tight and can take that much pressure.

He was seeing almost 120 FP at 13 psi when the static was 20 psi at idle. I think we may want to switch FP gauges with Kris to see if the gauge is correct just for testing. We lowered the FP to 15 psi and it was a little better but he still had -25 LTFT at idle. We got him tuned to around -10 LTFT with 13 psi FP at idle put we think we heard a little detonation so we tuned it rich again. I think 440's may be in the near future, or 4 more injectors.

I believe my LTFT was around -20 to -25% also, but that isnt as much of a concern anyway. It will be very difficult to get the LTFT lower when running larger than stock injectors. You want to concentrate on the STFT. On my car with the 310's, i run around 20-21 psi of fuel pressure at full idle vac(17-18 hg's), and get STFT around -5 to -10% The closer you get your STFT to 0, and keep it there, then the LTFT will start to decend. If you can get the STFT to go into the low positive numbers, then that will bring down the LTFT also, but its more important to worry about STFT. Also to clarify, "static" fuel pressure is what fuel pressure is at at 0 psi, not idle vacuum.

>Well STFT was between 0 and -4 the whole time when we were at >15 psi FP. What disk are you running in the Vortech again >Craig? > > > > Well then that sounds really good. When you upped the pressure to 20, then that gave you 5 more psi of fuel at max boost, which may have helped slightly. But IMO, he needs larger injectors. 120 psi of fuel pressures is quite a bit! Yeah you just have to remember that when you lower the idle pressure, you lower the max boost pressure too
