#45680, "JE Pistons - Are they directional?"

Do the JE pistons have to go a certain way or are they identical and can go either way. I know I am an idiot but I just need to know.

From what JE told me, the "JE" logo faces the exaust side of the motor. The logo is on the underside of the piston. JE said that they manufacture all thier pistons like that. I'm not sure how important it is for the pistons to be directional, but as long as they are all similar, ie all the JE logos are in the same direction. I just followed JE's recomendations.

Well i'm a perfectionist, and all faced the same way on my motor, along with all the rods facing the same way. Prob not essential to do, but its more professional that way. I'm sure you will be fine though. I just stated what JE directly told me, so since they make the pistons, they should know how to install them.

It's not being a perfectionist, i mean, if you were building an engine, generally I would hope most people would follow a pattern, even though in this case it doesnt matter, still it's just normal i think. But on the other hand, if I messed up and got the engine back in and one of the logos was backwards, and they werent directional, i'd say fxck it and go break that baby in for sure emoji

yeh I dug up a really long post and the JE logo faces towards the exhuast, but like Darkone said its the same from one side to the other so it doesn't matter. But if it were me I'd at least make sure all the JE logos are facing one direction.
