My 2.2L from Howell for my 95 Eclipse should be done Fri or Sat this week. I have a S-AFC, MSD DIS-2, Accel 415cc injectors and the S-FMU. I am fuel tuning illiterate and need to know what kind of idle psi I will need to run if possible. I also installed the 2.72" ring and disc in the S-FMU along with the "dark spring" based on the chart in the back of the S-FMU booklet. Is this the right combo?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

i have almost the same setup as you. my engine is the howell 2.0 though...

i'm running about 23 psi at idle, and it's still too rich with the dark spring and the 3:1 S-FMU disc. i need to get my datalogger working to properly tune my fuel curves.

EDIT: is this really "advanced tuning"? i thought that was limited to the "smoking pot" ideas like the quad throttle body setup or anything else like that, like really far out shit that not many people have tried.

I'd expect that the 2.72" disk is far too much for 415 cc/min injectors. People often use that one with stock 235's. One of the smaller disks is probably better. Be careful not to lean too much with the S-AFC or it will advance your timing and you'll have to retard more with the MSD. Since the 2.2l is really new, I think we can leave it in the advanced section. And you have GOT to post info and results when you put that engine in.

Thanks for the reply Corbin. From what I have seen and heard on this board, you are the man when it comes to fuel needs. I think that I may put in one of the smaller discs like you say. I will most definitely post some numbers etc when I get the motor put in. Any additional info, tips are greatly appreciated as well.

Corbin is the man. You need to get some dyno info after you get the 2.2 installed and running. Lot's of people want to see what the 2.2 can do!!

We can go ahead and leave this one here, but this is in fact NOT an advanced topic. If it is a question that can be answered by a web page or simple equation or some basic knowledge, then it is most definitely not advanced. A new platform does not consititute advanced as the principles are the same.

One thing I can say now that my 2.2 turbo is running is that my previous fuel setup is just not cutting it too well on the new block. I had the stock injectors in before, with the old craptech regulator, and it actually was good for about 8psi, and now I'm having lean issues at only 7psi.

Gains are quite impressive with the 2.2 though, that I can assure you, and I'll know more once I get the 48lb injectors and 034 mounted and up and running

I just thought that since the 2.2L was new, that the fuel requirements might possibly differ from the 2.0L. Sorry if I have seemed to irritate anyone with this non-advanced post, I am a noobie and have an entirely different setup to tune than I used to

When I first responded, I was really torn whether to move this thread or not. Now that I think about it, I agree with Murix. It is a new configuration, but its needs should be similar to the 2.0l. Kind of like the difference between low comp and high comp in the 2.0l. So, from here on out 2.2l stuff goes in the other sections. We'll leave the advanced section open for "crazy, new ideas" and tedious technical discusions.

Well Corbin you will have your hands on one soon enough I'm picking mine up this weekend. So hopefully the wrenching will start the following weekend. I'm still waiting on my unit and bosses from Javad, then I will be able to make the manifold. And I'm still waiting on misc parts from Bob Kise. It should all be comming together soon enough though.
