Hey, i am just wondering what fuel injectors are good to use in a custom boost application? what are you guys using? i am on the final stretch with the install....

depends on how much you're planning on boosting and what fuel pump you're using. we can use any bosch pintle style high impedence injector. ford racing injectors seem to be the best for the price. i'm using 30lb injectors w/ walbro 255hp intank. this setup should be good till around 12-13psi

OK... i am boosting to start about 8psi. i am using the walbro 255 fuel pump. i just wanted to know what ones the harness would work with, how big to go, and if they will fit in the rungs in the intake manifold.

i would say to go w/ 30lb ford racing or accel injectors. should definitely be enough fuel. they're directly compatible, and you won't need to use an safc to control them. i got mine at summit.

I agree with the above. Since you are using the walboro, it doesnt like to flow well over 100 psi of fuel pressure, so using the stock injectors for 8 psi, may not work with that fuel pump. Using the 30lbers, you will be all set for 8 psi.

thanks, was there a certain one one went with, or just plain 30lb? meaning, did they have alot to choose from or just one, or a few. i will look there for them. how much were they?

nope... there's only one type of 30lb injector for both companies. just check summit's website.

i have a question about that fuel pump..since i'm a star guy thats what i'm using...and i'm running 15psi now w/ the 8 inj setup...are you telling me that its not going to be ok for high boost application?? its good and rich for my current boost level and my egts are perfect...i guess i'm kind of a noob w/ fuel pressure regulators and their rise rate, let me see if i understand this correctly..to my current knowledge it will rise 1 lb of pressure per 1 lb of boost...so if its at 20 vacuum at idle and i'm running 15 psi then it would rise 35 psi of fuel pressure on top of my idle, which is set to 45 static....so is it correct to think that i'm running 80 psi fuel pressure?? that doesnt sound right...maybe i should do a little research on this...am i on the right track??

Chad: The rising rate only works on top of the static. Since you are using a 1:1 and running 15psi you will have 15 additional psi on top of the 45psi static. Therefore you have 60psi fuel pressure at full boost. The rise rate has nothing to do with it when you are still in vacuum. It'll only rise with positive manifold pressure. If you look at a flow chart for the Walbro it flows a TON of fuel at 60psi fuel pressure. That's why you can run it at 15psi boost and have plenty of fuel while someone running with stock injectors would need 100+ psi fuel at like 10psi boost and could be running lean. The Walbro flows next to nothing at 100+ psi fuel pressure.
