wazzup guys I have a ? about my turbo I just rebuilt. we'll I bought a turbo from RRE, it is on their web site regular16g, not big 16g. We'll anyways after 2 yrs I had to rebuild it because It had shaft play, well When I took my 16g apart the exhaust shaft had spun and was outa tolerance so I couldn't use the 16gexhaust shaft. so what
i did was buy a tdo5-14b used turbo ,and used the exhaust housing and exhaust shaft since it was good. so I rebuit it using the 16g compressor side I took it too turbocity too have it balanced. everything is running smooth only problem is that the turbo doesn't spool up as fast, I'm thinking maybe the 14b exhaust side is a little bit bigger than the 16g from RRE the 14b exhaust wheel looked bigger too me. I herd they were the same exhaust wheel but I think the 14B maybe bigger. my blowoff valve sounds louder than before. so do you think my turbo is bigger now or smalle?just curious I might have to call majestic turbo to get more info. if your pushing more cfm your blow off valve will sound louder wouldn't it? So it looks like the only difference between a 16g and the 14b, on the turbine side, is that the housing is 6cm instead of 7cm. Isn't that just the size of the inlet on the turbine? Why would you get more CFM out of the compressor with a smaller turbine inlet?

You wouldn't. The 14b flows less. If it feels laggier, I would start checking for boost leaks.
