Can you rotate the compressor housing on the hahn turbos?

if so, is there a how-to somewhere?

Has anyone actually done it with the hahn super-series turbos?

according to one of the ASOG guys, he clocked the turbo just by undoing the snap-ring and spinning the housing, then retightening the snap ring...sounds a lot easier than that how to

(heres the thread im talking about http://bbs.asog.net/viewtopic.php?t=45232 )

The wastegate actuator housing is a little tricky. When I take pics, sometime tonight hopefully, I'll show you exactly what Howard and I did. The IC piping is REALLY cake once you clock the turbo.

Ok, I've got the pics taken, I just need to upload them to my account. I took a few shots of how they redid the wastegate, let's just hope they come out OK!

Ok, here are the pics. I've got a couple more still to upload so check back next weekend. I'm in Baltimore all week so I can't upload them. Enjoy! The one pic is a close-up of the wastegate. If you look closely, you'll see we had to tig-weld a "column" and drill/tap it to support the wastegate actuator. Hope these help some!

Thanks Jeremy, that does help.

i called hahn and their tech guy said that was the correct way to rotate the compressor housing, and warned me about the wastegate needing to be remounted...basically everything you said, lol

Anyone know if a regular stick welder would be sufficient for that weld (attaching a bracket to the compressor side of the turbo)?

I don't see why it shouldn't be ok. Just make sure you don't weld it THROUGH the housing (if that's even possible!)
