um, you might want to search. i'm assuming your ready to plop down 2k to build the engine up, plus 3k on a turbo kit, + more for supporting mods?

my bad i was not clear enough on that first post. I guess what i really wanted to know is that. I have a crap load of miles on my car and i want, no i need turbo. i'm tired of all the chevy heads and mustang ass' talking shit and being able to back it up. so i was just wondering what all i need to do to be able to safley handle boost with out blowing my motor up. that what i needed to know. and money is not really an object. It is but not that much. I know i'm looking at 5 to 6 grand and that cool. I just want to get my car ready before nopi not to show but beat some civics and shit. Thanks to all.

For 5-6 grand you can have your car running upwards of 15psi.
High mileage engines are obviously more prone to breakage. However, the best thing to do first is get a compression test done, as well as a leakdown test. This will give you a good overall view of the shape that your engine is in. Make sure you are ontop of your normal maintenance, especially with the timing belt.
To run the boost youd want, youd have to rebuild your engine. Although you can (and people safely do) boost upto 10psi on stock internals, its really risky, especially with higher mileage engines. If you are really willing to spend 6k, then you might as well as get a Hahn Stage 2 kit and the Howell Built Block. That should run you about 5k-6k.
If you want to save some cash, go the custom turbo kit way. Its not that hard to do, and the parts are easily available (and cheaper then hahn or star). But either way youre going to have to either rebuilt your current internals before you run high boost, or buy the howell block.

thanks to everyone that has responded to my post but what type or internals are the best like as far as cams pistons rings rods who's the best crane? JE? eagle? that what i was wondering. for starters i'm going with the stage 1 kit with what i got now and then as i move up i'm going to boost more. but whos the best at everything that i would need to be safe???
