Can they be used together? I want to use my 30lb injectors and will recalibrate the vortech, but I want easy starts and a nice idle with the bigger injectors. I'm fairly broke right now that's why I had asked. Also, can a bleeder valve be tapped into the FMU?

I'm thinking of running the fuel line from the rear to the front and move my vortech FMU to under the hood. I figured while I got some of it apart, I would start saving for the SFMU. Well with marriage soon and college tuition, it's gonna be awhile before I can get close to buy the SFMU and I have 30lb'ers just collecting dust. My thoughts:
-Replace the stock FPR by the tank with an adjustable one(lots of domestics around and I can get one cheap) -I can set base fuel pressure and have easy starts w/o flooding the motor all the time with the new injectors. -Then I can recalibrate the FMU for the injectors to run properly while boosting
I have read that our ECU can control the injectors and the car will run with just having the FMU recalibrated, but it will be rich and hard to start. I figure since I already have the FMU and it works flawlessly, why not see if I can try to get the best of both worlds w/o having to justify 300 bones to the soon to be wife!

I don't have this kind of setup - but I don't see why you couldn't do it. It's not like all factory regulators are set to the same fuel pressure. Maybe some Fords are set for 35 and some Dodges are set for 38 and so on. From everything that I've read about it - the FMU is supposed to work with ALL factory regulators no matter what they're set to.
The cheap test to make sure would be to install the adjustable FPR and play around with it using your current injectors and FMU calibration disks. Bump the idle fp up a couple of pounds and see if goes up by the same amount at max boost.

Before I start inquiring about a FPR, is there anybody that sees a problem or potential issue with this kind of set-up? Don't be shy, I'm looking for some downfalls to this. Also is -4 AN line too small to run as a fuel line from the back to the front of the car?

This study is based on the turbo model, but all of the lines and the filter/banjo bolt are the same. The only difference really is our rail...but our rail still has a chincy little 5.5-6mm inlet on it. So it essentially has very similar if not exactly the same flow characteristics.
So is -4AN line to small? According to the study - it depends on how much power you have. Anything below 325hp should be ok. It starts to become an issue past that.

I appreciate the info! I could find -4 size line cheap b/c it's a NO2 line. I'm gonna still see if I can hunt down -6 just to be overkill. I'm pretty sure that the set-up would work, but I was hoping to see what disks and pressures they were running on that type of set-up. Also if a bleeder valve could be added to the mix somehow too.

Well I just talked to a buddy of mine and he said that I could get an adjustable FPR from NAPA for CHEAP! Anybody want to talk me out of this retarded idea I have? Also can anybody tell me what disk they are running w/ 30lb injectors and fuel pressure to set it at so I can be lazy and not look it up?
