i'm thinking of going with the fmu. what are do you all think of getting the fmu instead of the sfmu.

i'm know star kits come with the fmu and haven't heard anything bad about them-like any star kits blowing up.

my set up is going to be 30lbs injectors, smic or fmic, 5-6psi, walbro fp.

New Car:
2004 350z base, Nismo CAI, pioneer avic-n1 (dvd, cd, navi)

Old Car:
1998 GS with hrc stage 2, HID 6000k conversion kit, AEM UEGO wideband, sfmu, ml, prokits, Greddy warning gauges: egt, boost gauge, and oil pressure, apexi tt, haydans tranny cooler, costum dp, groundwires, dynotune fp gauge. gst muff, turbo spoiler
Boostin since Aug 03.

nothing like driving with the windows down and the music low: i love hearing the turbo spool, swwwhhhttt!!!!

The HRC kit requires the implementation of an idle fuel pressure controller, as well as a boost referenced fuel pressure controller.

The SFMU fills both functions. The FMU only does the latter, while retaining the use of the stock FPR. You would need to totally rethink the fuel system from the HRC kit to implement the stock FPR, particularly with 96+ kits.

So are you saying that you don't need to get the sfmu for the star kit? The fmu that comes with the kit will be fine to run about 8 psi with 30lb injectors? Just wondering if spending the extra money will be worth it.
