I heard you can replace the HRC manifold bolts with the 4g63 manifold studs. What studs or bolts are good to use with our HRC manifold. Thanks for the help.

You need 8mm studs (8 of them). There are 2 sizes! The GSX ones i have heard are 10 mm, so be sure to get 8 mm. I actually just orderd some from Napa (.91 a piece or something like that), they have them stocked, but were out of them. I forgot the thread pitch, but they are 40mm in length. Just take one of your botls/studs you have now to match up. You cant beat 8 bucks for studs at Napa, as i think they are more than that at the dealer. ( I *think* they are a 1.75 thread pitch, but dont quote me on that, others may know for sure)

You can also order the 4G63 studs at your local dealer, local DSM shop or order from RRE.

for the 4g63 stud nut
just put some thingy ( red in color forgot the name) around the stud end which goes into the head, screw that bad boy in using the nut then remove the nut. and your stud is all the way in now, and your all done dude...

Below is a direct link to the section where the 4g63 bolts are listed. They have two sizes 8mm and 10mm. The only ones that fit our 420a is the 8mm. I bought four 8mm studs, nuts, and washers to anchor the exhaust manifold to the block (these studs are the four directly behind the turbo). I believe they are all $1.00 a piece. Road Race Engineering is a great shop to deal with - never had a problem.

I only bought four to replace the Hahn Allen Key Bolts that are used directly behind the turbo. The outside holes on the exhaust manifold are bolted to the block with four of the stock bolts. I have about 3,000 miles on my kit now and they never loosened up. It is up to you if you want to purchase all 8 bolts, washers, and nuts to keep them all the same.

There were some part numbers. The stud number differs a bit from the one you posted but it does work as it is installed on my car.

Exhaust man. stud to head 8mm MD005317
Exhaust man. nut 8mm MD092806
Exhaust washer 8mm MD041192

Hope this helps,
Kurt
