Im not too upset, this just means it time to throw in the rebuilt motor. I was not leaning out or anything. This sucks. Ill post the damage photos when i can! looks like im going to be taking the bus to work for a while now.. hah!

Been turboed since december. Car had 55000 before turbo and 4500 turbo miles. My compression was 120 acrost. time to swap in the rebuilt engine, then rebuild this one. shit.

120 across is REALLY low. Sounds like the engine already had some problems before you turboed.

120 across?

That almost more akin to a bad HG. Did you have some overheating issues?

Did you have an EGT gauge?

yeah, if it was 120 after then you might've just blown your hg. i think that's actually what happened to dave_fl. thought he blew his engine, took it apart and it was just the hg. rebuilt anyway though.

well i wouldn't take it back to that mech that you brought it too in the first place because if he couldn't tell that the comp was low when he did it the first time then IMO he doesn't know his head from his ass...... cause any good mech would have told you that there was something wrong when he did the comp test.. emoji

Cylinder #2 at 60 psi? Sounds like the famous cracked piston ring land :o I'd doubt its your HG. Blown HG's are just not a comnon as people think, esp when turboed, althogh its always a possibility, I just dont think so. You would have nasty looking oil, and prob frothy coolant. Pull the oil dipstick when the car is idleing, and if you can feel/see any puffs of vapor coming out, then its a piston ring land for sure. You will notice about 1-2 Hg's less in vacuum also.
