Anyone with JE pistons and rings....did you have to file your rings. If so what gap did you file them to on the number 1 ring and on the number 2 ring?

Just did the ring gaps for the JE rings a few days ago. These specs are what JE told me directly after talking with them about my setup. Higher boost needs slightly larger ring gaps(i plan to run quite a bit later on)
Top ring (silver edge ring)- .024 inches Second ring(dark ring, small dot on ring faces up) .022 inches Oil control retainer rings(not the oil scraper ring) min of .015 inches.
I didnt have to do anything with the oil rings, they were all in spec when i measured them. Yes, get a fine file and grind down one edge of the ring, keeping the edge as straight and at right angles as possible. Take small increments and check the gap. I pushed the ring with the piston top in the cylinder about a good 1" down. Be SURE the ring is square in the cylinder bore. I'm running the JE 8.8:1 .020 over pistons, and JE rings.
