how do i figure out how many hp XX shot gives at the wheels?

Put in the jets and dyno the car. :-P That's the only way for sure. Some manufacturers rate there shot at the wheels I believe.

manufacturers seem to claim that they give the number of the shot to the wheels, if not more. Maybe they mean at the crank. I just remember reading a NOS brochure or NX or something that said to expect HP #'s at or not to be surprised if they were more than the shot you use.

All the Dyno's on NX site have their rated shot equavalent to power at the wheels (50hp shot=50hp at the wheels). NOS especially dry are always seem to be @ the crank. A 50hp NOS shot usually dyno's about 37hp @ the wheels. Its true though a dyno is the only real way to know, your often comparing the same size nitrous jets with engines varying in displacement, # of cylinders and who knows what else.

That brings up the question: Can we safely handle a 75 shot at the wheels or at the crank on stock internals?
