I need help on defending myself when i tell my parents i want nitrous. My dad already said i could get it but saying it and actually letting me do it is one thing. I told him its cheaper then a turbo kit, its less hp then a turbo kit, probably more reliable then a turbo kit (with only a 50-60 shot), insurance wont go up, and if i decide to sell my car later it will be easier to take it off and just sell the car stock rather than buying all those installed upgrades. Anything im missing? what do i say if they ask why i want it? they will think im going to be racing all the time...TIA! Edit: anything i should do to my car before i buy nitrous? My uncle is trying to talk me out of it even though i tell him a 50 shot is guarunteed safe. What kit number do i need again? I am a 96...

do a comp test...make sure your engine is in overall good shape...and inspect your fuel system carefully. and depending if your 95-some 96 or other 96-99 youll either need a wet or dry kit. a dry for the 95-some 96 and a wet for other 96-99.

Hey man, just say that you want the car to be a little more fun. Be honest. My folks saw right through the BS I fed when I asked for a small loan to get my turbo. I was honest and mom signed the check no questions. Tell them that you are interested in starting to take the car to the strip every once in awhile. No harm, drag racing is dangerous, but it keeps me and many others from robbing C-stores. Tell them that you are interested in technology and like things that go fast. I always use "with speed, comes responsibility". I don't know if you saw the post, but bring your sorry butt down to Shawnee Mission Park this Sunday for the KC meet OZ_GS is getting together.

sounds like you've pretty well got it down. Let them know that this way you won't have the extra wear on your motor all the time like with a turbo (that is b.s., by the way, but it sounds good) and that it doesn't really make your car explode like in F&F. Oh yeah, don't forget to reenforce your intake manifold welds.
