a TD05H is either a 14b or a 16g. You can tell the difference by the compressor wheel (the fan that moves the air). Look at the compressor wheel of the turbo, if all of the blades are the same level then you have a 14b. If the blades alternate high and low, you have a 16g.

16G is a bigger turbo than a 14b. It can create more boost and create more HP. However, a 14b is a good turbo to start a turbo kit with because you will not be running the max amount of boost that either the 14b or a 16g can provide until you rebuild your engine. If youre going to run on stock internals, theres nothing wrong with running a 14b.

Before you buy (if you do) make sure to find out how many miles are on the turbo. The lower the better. Also check for shaft play. See if shaft that connects to the compressor wheel (or the wheel itself) either moves side to side or back and forth. If it does, then the turbo is in bad shape and I wouldnt recommend buying it. Hope this helps, good luck emoji

well i think it's a 16G. and it has like 30,000 miles on it. I'd be cool running a 16g right?

Yup, that turbo will do you good. Like I said, make sure you check for shaft play before you buy. If youre going to do your turbo kit, I wouldnt recommend running more than 6psi on a stock motor just to play it safe. A stock 16G will boost about 10psi. You'll have to get the internal wastegate (which controls the amount of boost the turbo provides) modified to lower the amount of boost. You can do that yourself, or you can take it to any local performance shop and they should be able to do it for you. Hope this helps.
