#44280, "A few NOS questions......"

Hey it's me.......again....I hope you all can help me. If I decide to buy NOS what else do I need? Is the stock fuel system good for NOS? Is it also hard to install? I won't have any money for labor. How much does it usually cost to fill the bottle? Is it always on or does it need "armed"? What company is the best to get? Can it be used with an auto tranny? What HP gain would I be looking at with the addition of NOS? Any thing else you guys can think of to tell me about it. I am sorry for all the questions but I figured I would ask them all at once instead of 10 different posts. Thank you for all of your time. GSsport (Rob)

If I
>decide to buy NOS what
>else do I need?

You dont NEED anything else but a bottle heater would be my first addition followed by a nitrous pressure gauge and purge kit. All these years and the only accessory I have is a heater.

Is
>the stock fuel system good
>for NOS?

Good enough for up to 75hp

Is it also
>hard to install?

If you can install fog lights you can install it electrically. If you can install an amplifier you can install it physically. If you can pull an electrical plug and let the car run out of gas you can install a wet kit without a rag full of fuel.

I won't
>have any money for labor.

Thats my thinking for installing a turbo kit myself

>How much does it usually
>cost to fill the bottle?

$3-4/lb=10lb bottle=$30-40

>Is it always on or
>does it need "armed"?

See the thread about the Zex kit

What
>company is the best to
>get?

See the thread about the Zex kit but depending on yr of car and preference Nitrous Express, NOS and Nitrous Works are all reputable.

Can it be used
>with an auto tranny?

Yes

What
>HP gain would I be
>looking at with the addition
>of NOS?

Whatever you jet it for. NOS rates its jetting at the crank. Nitrous Express (NX) at the wheels. If you were making 50hp at 3000rpm you'll be making 100hp with a 50 shot. Same throughout the powerband which makes traction difficult (as apposed to 20hp gain at 3000 and 50hp gain at 7000rpm). Use a nitrous contoller if you really want to use it off the line. With an auto you shouldn't have as much of a problem.

Any thing else
>you guys can think of
>to tell me about it.

Spark plug gaps should be in the .035" range or less. Dont use below 2500rpm. Dont over use it at every stop light and every race. Get a spare bottle if you dont want to ever run out.
