The S-FMU "manual" says that turning the "vacuum" screw in or out will adjust your fuel pressure under vacuum. I've turned the screw all the way in and all the way out with no change in fuel pressure under vacuum. The manual says that on engines with low vacuum (big cams), the vacuum screw won't do much. I have good vacuum (-410mm Hg). I want to get 35 psi under vacuum and 43 under 0 boost. Does anyone elses vacuum screw work on their S-FMU?

I can get whatever static fuel pressure I want (0 boost...no vacuum). I've got it set at 45 psi now, so that my fuel pressure under vacuum will be 32 psi. I think that the injectors might not spray right under 32 psi (or is it 35 psi?). That may be related to my earlier post on the pinging. Can you mess with the vacuum screw and see what it does? I have about 1 week to get the car running perfectly (so I can drive 300 miles home).

LAST EDITED ON 29-Apr-01 AT 04:19 PM (PST)

unfortunately i can't mess with my vacuum screw cause my stock regulator is still intact. I haven't had the time to rip it apart yet.

I don't think you are pinging tho..cause I get this metallic buzzing rattling noise whenever the revs are past 2.5K RPM. And weird thing is that the sound appeared after I put in my fuel pump...weird go figure But I think it's my something on my exhaust (heat shields??) that's causing it...it's driving me nutz

But I think it was 35psi that is the minimal pressure?

My vacuum screw does not work either.....but the boost screw works...The boost screw is for fuel pressure under boost. Static screw is for idel
