#43995, "newbie to NOS .... questions ....."

i am in a situation where summer is fast approachin and i wanna really smoke some honduhhhs. there are like 50 people in my town that have shitty hondahs with decals and exhaust tips (not real exhaust) and some 16 or 17 in rims with a really ricey spoiler. they line up to me all the time now when i got honduh huntin at night and i smoke them but i really want to SMOKE them. like 2 car lenghts or more hehehe or even a block or 2 LOL. i am scared to go NOS because of what i have heard it does to the engine. please help a newbie out. so far i have an Injen CAI, aem cam gears with +2 intake -2exhaust,afx front engine mount, and getting new plugs and wires. anything else i need and what is the largest i should get with my setup so far? i want power but not insane blow your engine power on the first run. also i am planning by next summer to have a stage 2 hrc turbo and run nos. any suggestions on a good setup and from where should i get it and how hard is it to install or should i have a real mechanic install it?

thanks

If you want to go turbo/nos just follow me this summer (and build that bottom end). Get wet so you dont have to convert later if you have a 95. 50hp is fine and fast.

I am running a wet 75-shot and havent had any problems. but i use it very sparingly...one because the refill station is like an hour away, and also because i only use it to race, not just riding around. ill be joining Stan in the turbo/N2O category by the end of the summer. the JE pistons and crower rods are waiting installation right now. if i were you, id get one range colder plugs for safety. before you decide to use a shot as big as a 70-75, try the 50, its a HUGE difference also, and may be fine with you.

I am assuming you meat backfire through the intake, but ussually you would have no intake if that happened. (really big boom)
This comes from it being activated under 3000 rpm or it might be because of where the nozzle is mounted. (I think it is called "pooling")
Also depending on the year of your car the MAP could have just went. Ours is a 96, only problem we had with the MAP is when we hooked up an S-AFC.

no, i meant it backfired out the exhaust, i didn't use my purge kit and a bunch of air went into the engine before the n2o (it was running lean), a few sparkplugs were blown out, and the n2o burped threw the whole system blowing out my Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor and causing 2 LOUD pops out the exhaust

Sorry for assuming but you are theorizing something that couldn't possibly happen. More than likely screwing your MAP sensor and geting a backfire (out the exhaust)would be from running rich, if you would have truly ran lean it would have went BOOM!
Purging yes lets the extra air out of the system but there wouldn't be enough air in that line to make you run lean, if anything you were running rich because the engine was getting a lot of fuel with no nitrous.
If your spark plugs were black, it ran rich, if they were white/grayish you ran lean and if you literally blew your spark plugs out of their holes... hmm couldn't tell ya.
